Sad Day for Hungry Heart

I accidentally deleted all the photos on my Blogger account.

I deleted what I thought were old photos on Google + (which I have never used), and didn't realize they were the ones being used by the blog.

It is not possible to restore the photos. I am sick over it.

I have deleted my Google+ account to prevent this from happening again.

I am currently deciding on what to do with the blog.

In the meantime, here are a couple more pictures of our beautiful daughter.

a note from Jerry:
This is a terrible design decision by Google; Google+ should not be hosting/sharing any and all images that your Google account touches. There needs to be degrees of separation between the different features that Google offers, whether it is Gmail, Blogger, Picasa, Google+, or any of the others. Each user should be given the settings to sync all of these, but it should not be the default for all users. A "google" search will show you just how many people have fallen victim to this design flaw - many people have lost much more blogging history.

She's Here!

Sorry for the absence, but we have had a very busy week.

Introducing

Virginia Rose

Born 7/1/2012

She is perfect. Her mommy and daddy are madly in love.

I'll try and update again soon.
If I can tear myself away from our beautiful baby girl.

Bad Habits

It has become noticeable to me that posts about Baby T are the most popular. I'm sure this will continue to be the case once she arrives as well!

I know some people refer to Hungry Heart as a food blog. I post a lot of what I eat, but that wasn't my real intention.
I like to think of it as a "healthy living" blog. And to me, healthy living is about daily activities, what I eat, and the general goings on of the Tylutki household.
After the arrival of our little peanut, I'm sure there will be lots of pictures of her.
But hopefully the blog will be a reflection of a family on a healthy living adventure. Including, food, fitness, and plenty of baby pictures!

On to the food:

This sandwich was one of those dinners when I felt a little sad after it was gone. I wanted to eat it again.
It was just pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. And a nice layer of hot sauce.

With baby cucumbers and Simply Dressed Light Blue Cheese dressing on the side.

Have you tried Marzetti's Simply Dressed line of salad dressings?

They contain yogurt, and are all natural. The blue cheese was an ok substitute for their full fat blue cheese dressing (our favorite). It was tangy with a few chunks of blue cheese.
Personally, I think I would rather stick with their regular dressing, mixed with a little lemon juice. More tang, about the same fat as the light version.
But this was a decent choice for a pregnant woman on a serious blue cheese kick.

I feel as though I have eaten fairly healthy while being pregnant. But somewhere along these 9 months I picked up a few bad habits:
  • I butter my toast
  • I eat ice cream approximately 6-7 days a week
  • I have been eating creamy salad dressings
  • I have an after work snack meal of cereal
  • I have about 3 sodas per week (usually root beer, and only the last month or so)
  • I haven't been eating enough veggies
I am confident I can cut out many of these habits after Baby T arrives. I will be fine without soda and creamy blue cheese dressing.
But saying goodbye to my daily Breyer's Neopolitan and Honey Nut Cheerios might be another story...

Baby T: Week 39

5 days until my due date!

Still feeling generally uncomfortable. My hands (especially my left) are really swollen and occasionally my fingers go numb. Lovely!
But I still have good days and not so good days. Yesterday I actually felt pretty great.

My insomnia has been much better lately, but I am finding I am have to change positions more frequently. Just hard to get comfortable these days!

Baby T is still wiggling like crazy, which is still amazing. Dr B. told us yesterday that she was about average size (7.5 lbs). She must be so squished in there!
Dr B. basically said I can go into labor any time, even though I feel pretty normal. He is also the doctor on call for the next 9 days, so I was pretty happy about that.

In the meantime we are just waiting.
I am starting to get anxious to meet our daughter.
Are you ready in there?!

We can't wait to see you!

Trifecta

I hear when you get towards the end of pregnancy you have urges to start nesting.
Does it count that I have been dying to clean the refrigerator, but not actually done it? It seemed to require so much bending over.

Jerry has done an excellent job of taking care of me, especially in the last few weeks. Many runs out to get ice cream, as well as cleaning, and cooking.

Yesterday I hit the spoiled pregnant wife trifecta:

He cleaned the refrigerator, grocery shopped, and cooked dinner.

Clean and full!

A manly meal of steak and potatoes. This of course, is Jerry's plate. Only a few more weeks and I can eat a steak this rare!

I should mention that he also managed to go for a 6 mile run before dinner. And then after dinner contemplated cleaning the basement. I begged him to sit down!

At least one of us is nesting....

Waiting

Just wanted to pop in and say hello this morning!

I had a relatively uneventful weekend, and I failed to take any pictures. But I wanted to post something. Didn't want to leave people wondering if I'm in labor.

I'm not.

On Saturday I felt like a huge uncomfortable, useless, pregnant lady with terrible back pain and wacky emotions.
On Sunday I felt pretty great.

I'm hoping the great feeling lasts throughout the week.
I know it is only 7 days until Baby T is due, but I know its common for first time moms to go past their due date.
So I keep telling myself she will be here in two weeks.
I am going to continue to work as long as possible, as it seems to make the days go by faster.

Let the week(s) of waiting begin!

Like A Rock

Aahhh. I slept like a rock last night.
At least my body seems to reward me with a good night's sleep after a totally crappy one.

I probably slept well because Jerry made an awesome dinner last night.

Fish tacos with fresh salsa and chipotle cream.
All I had to do was answer a few questions from the comfort of the couch, and he did the rest!
In the taco:
  • pan seared tilapia that was seasoned with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika
  • salsa with tomatoes, avocado, red onion, parsley, jalapeno, and lime juice
  • chipotle cream made with light sour cream, mayo, lime juice, garlic, and minced chipotles in adobo
Jerry gets two thumbs way up for this dinner. Plus, it only required about 5 minutes of the stove being on. Perfect for a 95 degree day.

Aside from the 'so-under-ripe-it was almost-crunchy' avocado, it was amazing. Easily the best thing I have eaten in weeks. I inhaled two of these, and probably could have eaten another. And I had extra chipotle cream. I hear spicy food can induce labor ;)

The only reason I didn't eat three tacos is because I was saving room for the peanut butter ice cream sundae that Jerry went out and got me after dinner!

The only thing I am liking about this hot weather is Sadie's smile.

I love that when its hot, it looks like she is smiling. Even though I know she is probably just panting. Its just one of those things I love about dogs.

Hot weather; loving it or hating it?

I am staying firmly planted inside the AC!
